The Difference

Interested in our business consulting services? Read on to find out how Innovative Biz Consulting is different!

These days if you search on the Internet for “business consulting," you’ll find an overabundance of information, websites, people, and businesses claiming to offer said services and promising to help businesses grow. After reading several websites, you may even find that you feel as though everything sounds similar, making it even more difficult to sort through the endless supply of resources to find the right fit for what you and your business need. There are a couple ways we stand out from all the other businesses and consultants that offer professionals and small businesses assistance, services, and guidance:

Fee Structure

Many consultants charge by the hour, which can range from $100 – $500. Many small business owners and professionals are breaking even, in the red, or just trying to get off the ground. An hourly fee structure just isn’t feasible for many clients because they either don't have enough resources to afford the benefits of the consultant’s feedback, or they spend more money than they have attempting to get the help they need to make a profit and grow.

At Innovative Biz Consulting, we provide a flexible fee structure for our business consulting services. Our flexible fee structure includes a few different options for receiving payment, so our clients can pick the one that best fits their needs. We offer services via retainer, customizable package pricing, hourly fee, or with one of our more popular options: a percentage of Adjusted Gross Income (AGI). Chosen by small businesses who want us to come in and really get our hands dirty, with this option, as our client's AGI increases, we get paid for our efforts in helping their business grow. In order words, if you aren't making money, we aren't making money. We don’t require an hourly fee because, as mentioned above, we know most small businesses can’t afford that - and based on the amount of hours Innovative Biz Consulting puts into building our clients’ businesses, charging by the hour is likely to run a small business into the ground.

We also know our role with our clients is usually not a forever role, so we’re not interested in earning Sweat Equity, or a percentage of ownership in your business. Our job is to come in to your business, then fix, design, build, strategize, systematize – whatever we and you determine is needed – implement the necessary changes, and gracefully exit.

Hands-On vs. Hands-Off

Most consultants offer an approach that can feel very “hands-off.” At Innovative Biz Consulting, we like to get our hands dirty. We want to be intricately involved in what’s going on in the business, so that we can give our clients the best guidance and build the best systems. If our clients are unsure what’s hindering their business’ growth, we want to be inside, troubleshooting the problem areas. If our clients are unsure and/or completely clueless about what to do next, how to build an effective system, and/or what strategy to implement, we will be working in the business to build and design the necessary structures.

Building a business well correlates nicely with the metaphor of building a well-oiled machine. We want our clients to feel as though their business is running smoothly and effortlessly, so they can concentrate on the work they do best.

Passion

We think that anything of worth has to have one very important and crucial component: passion. Not only are we passionate about what we do, but we also only work with people who are passionate about what they do. We love building businesses. We love the strategy, the system-building, the collaboration, the problem-solving, the intricacies, and the never-ending moving pieces. Building, expanding, and/or starting a business is no easy feat. It's not for the people who love their 9-5 jobs that begin and end on time. It's not for the people who work for the weekends, and it's not for the people who want a cushy, easy rise to the top. Businesses that are successful are fueled by passionate people who work all the time, like us. We don't work because we're workaholics - we do it because we truly love our work. We get more fulfillment being creative, planning, strategizing, building, and finding solutions than we do in our "down time." Passion is our currency.

Of course, the bottom line (profits) is our end game. We want our clients to be successful and the desired level of success depends on each individual client. But we don't work for the profits, we work for overall success and health of the business - your business.

Flexibility

Some business consultants are only accessible at certain times and in certain ways. Other business consultants offer only one way to be compensated. However, we believe that each business is unique. Consulting services need to be tailored to fit each of our client's needs for optimally efficient work. Therefore, we work with each of our clients to make sure they are getting what they need from us - and we don't concentrate on one area, we like to get our hands dirty with the entirety of your business. After all, it isn't until we've very intimately seen the whole picture that we can adequately address your problems and get your business to where you want it to be. For this reason, we offer a high degree of flexibility to our clients. Good consultants need to be able to flow with the changes, think on their feet, and effectively manage risk - to do this, one needs to be cool-headed, sharp, and, of course, flexible - that's exactly what we are.
